The Erasmus Sport project, RS4Women (pr. number: 101133376-RS4Women-ERASMUS-SPORT-2023 SSCP) co-founded by the European Union, sees the collaboration of three international partners Altinboynuz Sports Club (Istanbul, Türkiye), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki, Greece), and IRSEI ETS (Palermo, Italy) that met online on the 14th of October 2024 to update on project activities.

All partners are working together to reach the goals of inclusion and wellbeing through sport for women aged 18-35 and women over 60, who face greater barriers to integration. Indeed, the project aims to increase self-confidence and self-esteem through sports, well-being and social connections via swimming lessons, rowing classes, pilates courses and international conferences.

During the online meeting, partners had the chance to review together the highlights of the Sports activities held as project results and in line with the just passed European Sports Week. The Greek partner presented swimming-related activities, held in Thessaloniki, based on the training programmes developed and concluded with a graduation ceremony.

The Turkish partner, on the other hand, organised the Race Day festival in Istanbul to coincide with the sports day, with over 100 participants, concluding the activities with a well-attended ceremony, which also made it possible to disseminate the project results.

During the online meeting, the partners also discussed the next steps and the future publication of the scientific article in the Journal of Healthcare.

The participants’ satisfaction with the activities, as well as their important feedback, will soon be analysed in order to continue the work!
