‘Love is kind’ so said one of the signs that filled the streets during Palermo Pride 2024, a parade full of colours, music and many rights.
On 22 June, the parade in support of the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community took place in the streets of Palermo;
This year’s parade clearly spoke out against gender-based violence, which is still all too evident and all too widespread in today’s society.
IRSEI contributed to the construction of one of the parade floats together with many other local organisations, happy and proud to have been part of such a big and important event for our city.
A colourful river, 15,000 people, reached the Cantieri Culturali della Zisa, starting from Via Roma and crossing the whole of Palermo.
There is still a need to bring these issues forward and to take to the streets so as not to forget that rights belong to everyone and that we all deserve a kind love, free from prejudice.
