Consortium is thrilled to announce the release of the “Handbook for SMEs on Relevant Initiatives and Practices,” a key deliverable under the Project Star Growth initiative. This comprehensive report is designed to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector, particularly in Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Cyprus, Greece, and Slovenia.

The handbook meticulously gathers and highlights best practices in sustainable business management and digitalization, specifically tailored to the tourism industry. These examples have been carefully selected through thorough bibliographic research conducted by project partners in each of the five countries. The aim is to provide SMEs with a rich source of inspiration and practical guidance to adopt similar initiatives.

The report’s objectives are multifaceted:

  • Inspiration: Offering concrete examples of how to integrate sustainability and digitalization into tourism business models.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Facilitating the exchange of innovative ideas and strategies among SMEs across different regions.
  • Collaboration: Emphasizing the importance of networking and collaboration in driving sustainable and digital transformations.
  • Policy Support: Assisting policymakers in understanding the practical applications of green and digital strategies in tourism.

This handbook is more than just a guide; it’s a vital resource for any SME aiming to stay competitive and responsible in today’s evolving tourism landscape. We encourage all stakeholders to dive into this report and explore the opportunities it presents for fostering a more sustainable and digitally advanced future in tourism.
